Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus, March 21, 2010

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day.  For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison,  while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Have you ever found yourself dealing with a struggle in your life and you can’t find out why?  I am a firm believer that many times when we find ourselves in that situation it is because we have taken our eyes off of Jesus.  The Bible is filled with people who, at some point in their life, turned away from the Father or the Son and it cost them dearly.  So the question for each of us is not if we will ever turn away, because I can guarantee we will, but what to do differently when it happens.  When it happens we need to simply remember who we have been so richly blessed by, and return to our first love.  We need to turn our eyes back to God and to Christ.
